Big Weekends

This pre-World War II poster is from Easter's Weekend, one
of the three big party weekends at the University each year.

Openings, Midwinters, and Easters provide sports, parties,
and concerts for the enjoyment of all. Although not in Mr.
Jefferson's original plans, big weekends are much a part of
University life.

By Openings, October 31 and November 1, rush season will
have passed. Soon after semester break is Midwinters,
February 13 and 14, while Easters this year will be on April 10
and 11.

Homecomings, Christmas Parties, and May Parties also
provide a chance for Cavaliers to entertain the fairer sex.
